Wallpaper Updater

If you are a Windows 7 or 8 user, then you know that you can configure the operating system to automatically change wallpapers after a certain period of time. Unfortunately, this feature is a bit limited and doesn't allow you to configure it properly. What's more, in Windows XP, this option is not present. In order to fix these issues, you could install Wallpaper Updater, a program which, as its name suggests, allows you to update your Windows wallpaper automatically, after a certain period of time.

Installing Wallpaper Updater is not a problem for most users, as the installation wizard can be completed with just a few mouse clicks. When running the software, the first thing to do is to select the folder which contains the desired photos. The program supports any photo folder, no matter how many pictures are stored in it.

The next thing to do is to choose how the program should change wallpapers, either randomly or in a consecutive way. For selecting the period of time when the wallpaper should be changed, you have several possibilities. You can configure Wallpaper Updater to automatically change wallpapers on a daily, weekly or monthly basis or at Windows startup. You can also manually enter the number of days, weeks or months which should pass until the wallpaper should be changed.

Besides having all these features, Wallpaper Updater also allows you to extend a wallpaper image on the entire screen and you can configure it to use only images which are larger than a specific resolution, in order to make sure that only the highest quality photos are used as wallpapers. Another useful feature is the possibility of using photo albums from Picasa as wallpapers.
